IERF provides critical training programs that support community health, safety, and emergency readiness throughout Florida. Our courses are designed to equip volunteers, first responders, and nonprofit partners with the skills needed to respond to medical emergencies, disasters, and public health threats. Offerings include CPR/AED, Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Stop the Bleed, Bloodborne Pathogens, and disaster preparedness—ensuring communities are better prepared to protect life, health, and safety in times of crisis.
Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
A foundational course for volunteer responders, equipping participants with skills to manage trauma, airway, and basic medical emergencies until EMS arrives.
Red Cross CPR/AED & First Aid Certification
This essential course covers how to respond to cardiac arrest, choking, injuries, and more—offered in partnership with the American Red Cross. Available in-person or blended online + skills check.
Basic Incident Command & Emergency Operations
Introductory course on how to operate during disasters within FEMA’s NIMS framework—tailored for volunteer teams, schools, and faith-based groups.
Community Preparedness & Risk Awareness
Focuses on local threats in Florida (hurricanes, floods, wildfires) and how to prepare as a household or small team. Includes go-bag checklists and communication planning.
Fire Safety & Fire Extinguisher Use
Live or classroom training on how to prevent fires, perform evacuations, and safely operate a fire extinguisher.
Emergency Communication & Radio Operations
This course introduces the fundamentals of emergency communication, including two-way radio use, emergency signaling, and communication planning for natural disasters or grid-down scenarios. Ideal for community volunteers, CERT teams, and rural response coordinators.
